Lars Prahm is the new director general of Eumetsat, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites, replacing Tillmann Mohr. Prahm came to Eumetsat from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), which he headed from 1987 until 2004. In terms of the main challenges facing Eumetsat, Prahm commented, “”It is my intention to continue developing Eumetsat and its operations, ensuring we maintain our reputation for delivering cost-effective, high-quality operational Earth observation satellite data and products to Europe’s meteorological services.”
