Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Norway’s Telenor, reached agreement with Inmarsat to become a BGAN (broadband global area network) Interconnect Partner. The BGAN system, scheduled for launch in 2005, will offer telephony and high-speed data services through small-sized land portable terminals with near-global coverage. Services will be made possible through a fleet of new-generation satellites, known as Inmarsat 4 satellites.
