Kingston Inmedia Renamed

By Staff Writer | June 2, 2004

Kingston Inmedia, a leading provider of broadband satellite services, changed its name to Inmedia Communications, and it will trade as Inmedia. The new identify stems from a leveraged buyout of the company in April 2004 by its management and The Carlyle Group, a global private-equity firm. Inmedia previously had been owned by U.K.- based telecommunications company Kingston Communications.

Nick Thompson, Inmedia’s CEO, said, “It really is business as usual for those who work at Inmedia and, in the past few weeks since the acquisition, we’ve had lots of positive feedback from the industry and our customers. We chose to stay with the Inmedia name, as we feel it is very relevant to all aspects of our business.”
