The government of Taiwan has sent its second satellite, ROCSAT 2, to the United States for launch into orbit early next year. The satellite will be delivered to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California for liftoff Jan. 17. ROCSAT-2 will have applications involving remote-sensing technology to help upgrade Taiwan’s capability in disaster prevention, land mapping and environmental monitoring.
