Mitec To Supply Cell Site Amplifiers

[Satellite Today – 1-23-08] Mitec Telecom will provide tower-mounted amplifiers to an unnamed North American wireless operator, the company announced Jan. 23.
    Mitec will supply the towers, which are expected to be operational later this year, for both personal communications and advance wireless networks.
    "This is a meaningful milestone for Mitec since it validates the company’s strategy to both compete vigorously in existing markets and pursue new opportunities,” Dan Piergentili, Mitec president and CEO, said in a statement. “By re-engineering some of our off-the-shelf technology at nominal cost we were able to quickly and directly distribute it to a new market."
