[Via Satellite 12-09-2016] Cobham Satcom and Speedcast have concluded a global framework agreement to distribute maritime stabilized antennas, which aim to offer high-speed connectivity at sea. Through the new agreement, Speedcast will become a distribution partner for Cobham, the basis of a strategic partnership that enables Cobham to extend the reach of its Satcom’s Sailor and Sea Tel Brand Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) and Television Receive Only (TVRO) antennas across SpeedCast’s global sales and support network. Through the new partnership, the companies expect to generate a double-digit million-dollar figure in revenue.

Cobham’s portfolio of stabilized antenna systems for Inmarsat’s new Fleet Xpress service will become a part of SpeedCast’s service portfolio through the agreement. Alongside Cobham’s Sailor 60 GX 60cm antenna and the Sailor 100 GX 1-meter antenna for Fleet Xpress, SpeedCast will also deliver improved performance on Ku-band networks for end-users with the all new Sailor 900 VSAT high power system.
