Intellian Technologies is opening a new factory in Pyeongtaek, South Korea as part of an expansion of its headquarters. The new factory is expected to be operational in August and will increase the satellite hardware company’s production and warehouse capacity by three times.

The new factory is four kilometers away from the existing factory. Both factories will run simultaneously, providing production capacity of all existing product lines across maritime and land sectors, including gateway antenna systems, and the recently announced range of flat panel antennas. Intellian also said that enhanced manufacturing capabilities will be a foundation for its technology development.

Intellian is looking to capture increasing customer and partner demand that is occurring with growth in the satellite industry.

“The satellite industry is at an unprecedented juncture, with partners and customers facing exponential demand in both new and existing market verticals. This new factory will support Intellian’s mission to deliver the highest levels of partner and customer service, working together to develop the most innovative technology providing best-in-class solutions,” said Ben Swallow, vice president of Global Partnerships and Strategy.

This comes after Intellian recently opened a new London office focused on L-band terminals.
