[Satellite Today 09-08-08] SES New Skies signed a new capacity deal with Talia, a supplier of satellite Internet services for North Africa and the Middle East, SES New Skies said Sept. 8.
Talia has contracted multiple transponders on the NSS-12 satellite, which is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2009. NSS-12 will replace the NSS-703 satellite at 57 degrees East. The value of the contract is more than $10 million
“NSS-12 will become one of the most powerful satellites in the region,” Alan Afrasiab, CEO of Talia, said in a statement. “Its vast footprint and high-output power levels ideally support Talia’s ambitions to increase our coverage area and to target new customers.”
