By Staff Writer | January 27, 2004

New York-based Sirius Satellite Radio [Nasdaq: SIRI] and Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based automotive retailer UnitedAuto Group [NYSE: UAG] have signed a multi-year agreement under which United will promote Sirius satellite radios in its cars, trucks and other vehicles.

Vehicles ordered by UnitedAuto’s 138 franchises across the United States will come with factory-installed, pre-activated Sirius radios, where available. These radios will include a sampling of 16 streams of Sirius programming for a three-month complimentary period to customers who purchase or lease vehicles.

The five-year agreement also calls for Sirius and UnitedAuto to launch joint marketing activities, including direct mailings to UnitedAuto customers, signage and satellite radio service in UAG dealerships.
