Orbcomm Receives Largest GT 1100 Order to Date

[Via Satellite 10-29-2014] Orbcomm, a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions provider, has received an order for 16,000 GT 1100 trailer tracking and monitoring devices. The order came from one of the largest retail fleets in the United States.

The customer will use the dual-mode GT 1100 solution to track dry van assets through a combination of Orbcomm’s Second Generation (OG2) satellites and Verizon’s Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) cellular network. For refrigerated assets, the customer will employ Orbcomm’s dual-mode RT 6000+ cold chain monitoring solution. Orbcomm plans to ship most of the 16,000 units during the fourth quarter of 2014.
