Telenor Expands Management Team, Appoints New DiGi Communications CEO

[Via Satellite 05-19-2014] Telenor Group changed the organizational structure of its Group Executive Management (GEM), adding three new members on Friday, May 16. The company appointed Henrik Clausen, Katja Christina Nordgaard and Pål Wien Espen as executive vice presidents and members of the GEM.

The move is part of a new strategy to transform the corporate affairs unit, as well as create a new group strategy and digital unit, which Clausen will run starting on June, 15 2014. The corporate affairs unit will merge corporate communications, sustainability and government relations into one group under the authority of Nordgaard beginning on Aug. 4 2014. Espen has been a participant of GEM meetings as part of the company’s general council and head of group legal, and is now an official GEM member effective immediately.

DiGi Communications, a Malaysian mobile service provider majority owned by Telenor, has also made changes to its executive positions, with the appointment of Lars-Åke Norling as the new CEO, starting Aug. 1, 2014. Norling was the of CEO of Telenor Sweden, a position which Patrik Hofbauer, the current CEO of Telenor Broadcast and Canal Digital will now hold.
