[Satellite TODAY 08-15-13] Satellite operator Telesat has partnered with Lemko Corporation to bring advanced broadband services, including 3G/4G solutions, to rural and remote communities in Canada. Under the agreement, Telesat will deliver Lemko’s 2G, 3G and 4G LTE solutions to the country’s north, hospitality and resource sectors as well as into enterprise markets.

“By combining the power and reach of our satellite fleet with Lemko’s cutting edge 3G/4G platform, Telesat can deliver a complete broadband offering to wireless service providers anywhere in Canada – an offering that will enable our service providers to meet the goals of local residents, government officials and business leaders,” said Michele Beck, Telesat’s vice president, North American sales.

Lemko has succeeded in re-engineering mobility networking as an IT application that runs over the Internet. This has brought internet economics to mobility, effectively making mobile broadband more affordable to deploy and more accessible, globally. Leveraging Telesat’s deep history in serving the Canadian market, Lemko and Telesat together are cost effectively bringing wireless broadband to un-served and underserved communities.
