Dish Network Hires New Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

U.S. pay-TV provider Dish Network has appointed James Moorhead to the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Moorhead will be responsible for Dish Network’s marketing, advertising, public relations and market research, reporting to Dish Network CEO Joe Clayton. Moorhead also will serve on Dish Network’s senior executive leadership team. Moorhead previously held senior marketing roles at the Procter & Gamble Co. Prilosec OTC, Vicks and Gillette.

Kratos Names Van Fosson Head of CVG-Avtec Subsidiary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has hired Marion Van Fosson to lead its CVG-Avtec subsidiary as vice president and general manager.

Van Fosson, a retired U.S. Army officer, will be responsible for managing all aspects of CVG-Avtec’s operations from its facility in Chantilly, Va. CVG-Avtec provides fixed and tactically deployable solutions that support both the uplink and downlink sides of satellite communications. Van Fosson previously served as vice president and general manager of EMS Defense & Space and as vice president and general manager of BAE Systems’ Military Vehicle Systems business unit.

SES Shareholders Elect Former Intelsat Chairman, CEO to Board of Directors

Shareholders of SES have elected Miriam Meckel and former Intelsat chairman and CEO Conny Kullman to serve as new members of the company’s board of directors.

Meckel is a professor of corporate communications and director of the Institute for Media Management and Communication at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Kullman previously served as director general and CEO of Intelsat from 2001 to 2005 and chairman of Intelsat until his retirement in 2006.

Following the election, SES’ new board of directors elected René Steichen as chairman and François Tesch and Jean-Paul Zens as vice chairmen.
