Telenor to Supply M2M Service for Auto Insurance Risk Management Solution

[Satellite TODAY 10-18-11] MyDrive Solutions has signed an agreement with M2M service provider Telenor Connexion to procure global connectivity for its MyDrive Dynamic telematics risk management solutions for automotive insurers, Telenor announced Oct. 17.

   MyDrive collects data using GPS to take snapshots of roads. The solution aims to enable motor insurance companies to obtain driving behavioral data to assess the risk presented by individual drivers, and price motor insurance premiums accordingly. The embedded M2M connectivity solution provided by Telenor Connexion is integrated with eSIM to allow MyDrive’s insurance solution to be marketed and deployed globally from the outset.

   “Predominantly, we choose Telenor Connexion due to the company’s deep expertise in M2M. Their experience of machine-to-machine and particularly in the telematics field is unrivalled. The flexibility, both technical and commercial, and the integration capabilities together with the Service Portal offered made them the obvious choice for this business and life critical solution”, MyDrive Solutions CEO Linden Holliday said in a statement.
   Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
