TS2 to Distribute Iridium Extreme Network Phone in Poland

[Satellite TODAY 10-10-11] Polish technology company TS2 has signed a strategic agreement with Satcom Global to distribute the Iridium Extreme global network phone to its customers and national trade partners, TS2 announced Oct. 7.
   TS2 said the Iridium Extreme would be made available to its customers starting Oct. 12 at a current retail price equivalent to $1,567.
   “The Iridium Extreme model is the most advanced and rugged satellite phone with a unique feature of locating users anywhere on the surface of the planet. It is more than a satellite phone. It provides customers with a solution for transmission of voice, data, Wi-Fi, GPS, SMS, SOS and tracking services under the harshest conditions,” TS2 said in a company statement.
   Iridium Extreme was part of the Iridium Force package of new mobile satellite products and services announcements unveiled in September. The initiative involves the opening of its core Iridium technology licensing, the launch of a new handset and the expansion of capabilities under its existing portfolio.
