MDA Posts Profit, Earnings Increase For 2007

[Satellite Today – 3-27-08] MacDonald Dettwiler and Assoc. Ltd. posted increased revenues and earnings for the fourth quarter of 2007 and the year, MDA announced March 26.
    MDA increased revenues by 2 percent, from 287.7 million Canadian dollars ($283 million) in the fourth quarter of 2006 to 294.1 Canadian dollars ($289.3 million) for the fourth quarter of 2007. The company also increased net earnings by 36 percent, from 22.1 million Canadian dollars ($21.7 million) to 30.2 million Canadian dollars ($29.7 million).
    For the year, MDA reported revenues of 1.2 billion Canadian dollars ($1.2 billion), a 19 percent increase from 2006’s 1 billion Canadian dollars ($983.8 million). Net earnings increased to 95 million Canadian dollars ($93.4 million), from 83.5 million Canadian dollars ($82.1 million) in 2006.
    MDA shareholders have approved the sale of the company’s Information Systems and Geospatial Services business to ATK, but the Canadian government has extended its deadline for making a decision on the sale.
