DirecTV Chooses New Fraud Protection Program

      Neural Technologies, a United Kingdom-based technology vendor, is helping U.S. pay-TV operator DirecTV combat fraud. Neural announced June 11 that it had completed the installation of its latest fraud-management system for the broadcaster.

      Neural was selected by DirecTV earlier this year after it participated in a pilot study to demonstrate solid preliminary indications of successful fraud detection. Neural has a presence in the U.S. market through previous agreements with companies including GE Money, Sprint Nextel and Cingular AT&T.
