[Via Satellite 05-04-2015] SPI International has entered an agreement with Spacecom for a full service uplink, encryption, and capacity on the Amos 3 satellite for broadcasts to European customers. The multi-year, multi-million dollar contract bolsters SPI International’s HD and SD channels. SPI International owns Kino Polska, one of the top movie/TV series channels in Poland. Spacecom is working with TTCOMM, its partner in Poland, to provide the full solution.

SPI International contributes an array of theatrical films and television programming around the world, and uses the Amos 3 satellite for regular and premium bouquets including thematic premium content. The company today distributes six HD and five SD channels to cable companies and Direct-to-Home (DTH) operators in Poland.

The Amos 3 satellite is collocated with Amos 2 at the 4 degrees west hot spot, which serves Eastern and Central Europe and the Middle East. Spacecom’s next satellite, Amos 6, is scheduled to join these satellites in 2016 following its launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
