ThinKom’s ThinSAT 300 Antenna Completes HDTV Transmission Test

[Via Satellite 04-10-2014] ThinKom’s ThinSAT 300 antenna was successfully proven in Satellite News Gathering (SNG) and broadcasting applications using HDAVS’s EPK Emergency News Reporting SNG Vehicle. The vehicle was able to transmit at a rate of more than 8 Mbps while driving at speeds of more than 85 mph.
The ThinSAT 300 antenna is a Ku-band Communications-on-the-Move (COTM) system and measures at 4.5 inches high by 60 inches long. The EPK SNG Broadcast Vehicle supports HD cable transmission and often reports in remote environments for urgent news broadcasts.
