By Veronica Magan | October 31, 2016

[Via Satellite 10-31-2016] Advantech Wireless announced it has delivered its most advanced Discovery hub and terminals for a military customer in the Middle East. This is the first of multiple planned deliveries to this unnamed customer.

As part of a major upgrade to the military infrastructure in the country, this network deployment is Advantech Wireless’ first military-grade fully redundant hub deployed in the country following a number of successful commercial network installations for the country’s national energy company.

As a turnkey system Advantech Wireless supplied a hub antenna, a high precision antenna control/tracking system and a redundant RF chain including high power amplifiers, frequency converters, and a redundant Discovery VSAT hub. The VSAT hub includes Advantech Wireless’ 96-channel TDMA Multi-Carrier Demodulator on a single card. The remote terminals use Advantech Wireless’ 1.2 m Pioneer drive-away antennas with high performance Gallium Nitride (GaN) Block Up converters and high throughput VSAT modems.
