O3b Networks Opens Peru Gateway

The gateway is located at a Telefonica facility in Lurin, south of Lima, and will provide Launch and Early Operations (LEOP) support, as well as serve as the gateway for customer network services. Under control of O3b’s Network Operations Center (NOC) in Manassas, Va., the Peru Gateway will track the O3b satellites through the sky, as each satellite passes over the site four times per day.
The gateway includes the telemetry and commanding systems needed to control the satellites during early stages of launch and completed integration with the Satellite Operations Center (SOC).
Advantech Wireless Completes Turnkey Solution Deployment for Major Latin America Military Customer
Advantech Wireless has successfully completed the deployment of a turnkey solution that includes its SapphireBluTM Series of UltraLinearTM GaN technology based solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs) for a major military customer in Latin America.
The solution included the deployment of the first Hub Earth station to access Mexsat’s newest member of the fleet, Mexsat 3 (Bicentenario) and the combination of Advantech Wireless’s 500W C-Band UltraLinearTM GaN based SSPAs integrated with one 9.3m antenna. The remote antennas and RF subsystems were also provided as part of this contract.
“This disruptive technology allows remarkably high levels of performance and also impressive savings in CAPEX and OPEX, including energy cost,” said Cristi Damian, VP of business development, Advantech Wireless.
Panasonic Avionics Selects NewCom for Expanded LatAm Coverage
Panasonic has decided to expand its aeronautical broadband service over Latin America, it selected NewCom International’s new teleport in Peru to be the facility of excellence and manage its aeronautical broadband coverage in South America.
NewCom will be providing the services to enhance in-flight entertainment in the region. The company’s new facility is located in the city of Lima, Peru, which has a low annual precipitation rate, making satellite coverage more easily attainable for the entire region.
Media Networks to Provide Pay-TV Solutions for TV4ISP in Brazil
Media Networks has reached an agreement with TV4ISP to provide pay-TV solutions for Internet Service Providers (ISP) in Brazil through the integration of Media Networks’ DTH and Go Digital wholesale pay-TV services. “The Brazilian pay-TV market is very dynamic and new opportunities have opened for the entry of regional operators,” said Leandro Gaunszer, commercial director, Media Networks.
Based in Goiânia, state of Goiás, TV4ISP serves Internet and pay-TV operators throughout Brazil, with white label solutions that allows them to add pay-TV to its portfolio of services offered to end users.

CRP Medios y Entretenimiento SAC Radio will upgrade its network across Peru using International Datacasting Corporation’s (IDC) Star Pro Audio Receivers. Star is the modern replacement for IDC’s ABR professional audio system, which is used to deliver content to tens of thousands of transmitter sites across the world.
CRP Medios y Entretenimiento SAC plans to deploy IDC’s Star in a multi-phase approach that will work in tandem with the ABR platform until all systems are in place.
