Space Florida Partners with ATK on Military Spaceports 3 Award

      [Satellite TODAY 01-21-11] The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center issued Space Florida an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity Spaceports 3 contract worth up to $48 million to provide Minotaur launches from Florida, Space Florida announced Jan. 20.
          Space Florida will partner with ATK and Astrotech on the contract to provide the launch complex and process future payloads related to the Minotaur launches.
          The first part of the Air Force award orders a logistics strategy plan for solid-propellant rocket launches from Space Launch Complex 46 (SLC-46) at Cape Canaveral, which will be managed by Space Florida. This logistics plan would include specifics regarding infrastructure requirements for launch as well as facilities to be used to process future solid-fueled boosters and payloads.
