AtlanTecRF Unveils Ka-band Loop Test Translators

By Staff Writer | November 25, 2008

[Satellite Today 11-25-08] AtlanTecRF launched a new series of Ka-band loop test translators in support of the next generation of ground based transmit and receive stations, the company announced Nov. 25.
The new rack mount instruments receive samples of uplink frequencies in the range 27.5 to 31.0 GHz and convert that signal to the appropriate downlink frequency ranges occurring from 17.7 to 21.2 GHz, simulating the target satellite while still “off air” and allowing alignment and system performance measurements to be taken without compromising the transmission.
According to AtlanTecRF, each instrument typically has a 3 GHz bandwidth and that the input signal level can be adjusted over a 30dB range.
