SES New Skies Gets Ready for the Olympics

[Satellite Today – 3-5-08] SES New Skies will offer satellite capacity to international broadcasters for providing live coverage of the Olympics Games, the company announced March 5.
    SES New Skies renewed its China resale agreement, allowing TV coverage around the globe via the SES New Skies satellite fleet. SES New Skies has been contracted by AT&T/NBC in the United States, the BBC in the United Kingdom, TV Globo in Brazil and the European Broadcasting Union to provide occasional use services out of Beijing via its satellites.
    “Occasional use and special event coverage are an integral part of SES New Skies service portfolio,” Samantha McCloskey, vice president of special events and occasional use services, said in a statement. “We are dedicated to ensuring reliable, high-quality, and flexible occasional use services anywhere in the world for the benefit of a steadily growing list of blue-chip customers.”
