[Via Satellite 06-25-2015] IHI Aerospace (IA) has signed a contract with Boeing Satellite Systems International to supply its 500N liquid apogee engine for the Intelsat 35e satellite. The engines, which have a high Specific Impulse (ISP), are used to inject a spacecraft from the transfer orbit to a geostationary orbit.

The EpicNG-class high throughput Intelsat 35e satellite is built on the Boeing 702MP bus. The satellite is scheduled for launch in 2017. IA has manufactured satellite equipment for several Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) missions, as well as for Lockheed Martin’s A2100 and Orbital ATK’s GEOStar satellite lines.
