      • Globecomm Systems Inc. [GCOM] reported revenues of $25.5 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2005 ended Sept. 30, up 24.4 percent form the $20 million in revenues earned during the same period one year ago. Net income for the first fiscal quarter was $2.2 million, compared to a net loss of $500,000 in the first quarter of fiscal 2004. The net income figure includes a non-recurring gain of $1.5 million related to a settlement with a major customer. Outside of the non-recurring gain, the company attributed the turnaround from loss to profit to increased revenues and an improvement in overall gross margin.
      • XM Satellite Radio [XMSR] reported improvements in revenues and a narrowing of losses for the third quarter of 2004. The company reported third- quarter revenues of $65.4 million, more than doubling the $26.9 million in revenues reported in the third-quarter of 2003. The company’s net loss narrowed to $118 million in the third quarter, compared with $133.5 million during the same period one year ago. The satellite radio provider added 415,671 subscribers during the quarter and, as of the end of the third quarter, it had 2,516,023 total subscribers.
      • ViaSat Inc. [VSAT] reported revenues of $82.6 million and net income of $3.7 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2005 ended Oct. 1, compared with revenues of $64.3 million and net income of $1.8 million reported in the second quarter of fiscal 2004. The company said it had record revenues of $41.1 million from its government segment.
      • Telesat Canada posted $91.1 million in revenues and $24 million in net earnings in the third quarter of 2004, compared with $83.9 million in revenues and $16.4 million in net earnings for the same period one year ago.
