EchoStar Intros Local Channels In Two Markets

Englewood, Colo.-based EchoStar Communications [DISH] announced today its DISH Network would offer local TV channels through its satellite television service to viewers in Rockford, Ill., and to those in Medford, Ore. The new Illinois channels include ABC affiliate Channel 14 (WTVO), CBS affiliate Channel 23 (WIFR), NBC affiliate Channel 13 (WREX) and FOX affiliate Channel 39 (WQRF). The Oregon channels now available to DISH customers are ABC’s Channel 12 (KDRV), CBS affiliate Channel 10 (KTVL), NBC’s Channel 5 (KOBI) and PBS’ Channel 8 (KSYS). This marks the first time local TV channels have been aired on DISH Network in these markets.
