[Via Satellite 07-11-2014] Eutelsat Communications chose Yohann Leroy to succeed Raphaël Mussalian as Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Mussalian will continue to work with Eutelsat as Special Advisor on Technology Strategy. He will report directly to Chairman and CEO Michel de Rosen.

Leroy is tasked with directing satellite procurement, launch, and in-orbit and network operations from teleports. As the leader of Eutelsat’s in-orbit expansion program, he is responsible for driving the company’s long term satellite technology plans.

An engineer of the Ecole des Mines and graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, Leroy joined Eutelsat as Director of Strategy in 2010, becoming the Director of Engineering in 2013. Prior to Eutelsat he was a technical advisor in the office of the French Prime Minister, responsible for digital economy and industrial policy.
