YooMedia plc, a U.K.-based interactive media company, acquired acquiring ViaVision, an independent broadcaster and production company. ViaVision manages five satellite television channels on the BSkyB platform, five interactive television applications, four supporting Web sites and multiple production projects. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

This acquisition is the latest in a string of high-profile acquisitions YooMedia made in recent months. In November 2004, the company acquired Digital Interactive Television Group (DITG) and The Gaming Channel (TGC) for GBP28 million ($52.3 million). DITG is an independent iTV technology and media solutions provider for many of the United Kingdom’s broadcasters including BBCi, UKTV, Disney, C4, Five, Zip TV and Turner.

Michael Sinclair, chairman of YooMedia, said of the ViaVision deal: “This acquisition consolidates our position in gaming and through ViaVision’s work with Game-In TV we gain crucial exposure to the poker market. It enables us to apply our interactive media and mobile skills to poker, which is one of the fastest growing content plays in our industry.”
