Globecomm Wins Equipment Contract From Asian Customer

[Satellite Today – 6-9-08] Globecomm Systems Inc. received a contract to build and install a Ku-band ground station from an unnamed telecommunications customer in Asia, Globecomm announced June 9.
    The station will provide the customer with the ability to improve service availability and overcome outages due to severe rainstorms. The station will include Globecomm software to detect severe rain fade conditions and direct the traffic from the main facility to the backup facility during high rain periods.
    The contract, valued at $3.1 million, raises the total value of the work Globecomm has received from the customer to $22.7 million.
