Maxar Q2 2022
In Q2 2022, satellite imagery provider and spacecraft manufacturer Maxar Technologies reported:
- Consolidated revenues of $438 million. Total revenues decreased 7% compared to the same period of 2021, due to a decrease in product revenues within the Space Infrastructure segment.
- Space Infrastructure segment revenue declined 9.7% compared to the same quarter last. Revenue was $186 million. Maxar reported a $17 million decrease in revenues from recurring commercial programs and a $3 million decrease in revenues from U.S. government contracts.
- Earth Intelligence segment revenue was nearly flat, $284 million in Q2 compared to $283 million in the same time last year.
- Net loss of $30 million, inclusive of a $53 million loss on debt extinguishment
- Backlog: Total order backlog of $2.9 billion as of June 30, 2022 compared to $1.9 billion million as of December 31, 2021. The increase in backlog was primarily driven by an increase in the Earth Intelligence segment, partially offset by a decrease in the Space Infrastructure segment.
- Maxar highlighted the 10-year contract from the NRO, worth up to $3.24 billion as part of the Electro-Optical Commercial Layer Program
