Thuraya Appoints Ahmed Al Shamsi Acting CEO

Thuraya Telecommunications announced that Chief Technology Officer Ahmed Al Shamsi has been appointed as temporary acting chief executive officer of the company, after the resignation of previous CEO Samer Halawi. Al Shamsi is assuming the role immediately.
According to the company, Al Shamsi has been a key member of Thuraya’s leadership since its inception in 1997. He was directly involved in all phases of its development, from concept initiation to complete deployment, operation and evolution.
