[Via Satellite 11-20-2014] Cable & Wireless Seychelles (CWS) has started using SkyVision Global Networks’ managed IP trunking and private network solutions to connect the island of Seychelles (Mahe), and its neighboring islands. SkyVision deployed the IP trunking service, which includes Digital Video Broadcasting Second Generation X (DVB-S2X) satellite technology, along with a Romantis VSAT platform to connect the main island to the 12 smaller surrounding islands. The company is supervising the services for CWS though its Network Operations Center (NOC).

Working closely with CWS, SkyVision also installed and deployed its proprietary private network solution for a government project, the Islands Development Company (IDC).

“We see an increase in the need for reliable and cost-effective satellite communications, even in countries where submarine cables have been existent for several years now,” said Dror Limor, SkyVision VP Sales.
