GTech Contracts Hughes to Install HN Systems at Colombian Lottery Sites

[Satellite TODAY 10-26-11] Hughes Network System was contracted by GTech to provide an advanced HN satellite networking solution to support lottery operations in Bogota, Colombia, Hughes announced Oct. 25.
   The turnkey contract was authorized by the Colombian subsidiary of GTech, which is part of the Lottomatica Group, a global lottery service provider. The order saw Hughes Network System supply the latest version of its HN System to GTech lottery sites and install more than 1,100 HN7000S broadband satellite terminals at locations across Colombia.
   “This [contract] is built upon the successful relationship our companies have shared for many years, as evidenced by the approximately 90,000 GTech lottery sites operating with Hughes satellite technology in North America, delivering the highest quality service and efficiency available in the marketplace,” Hughes Network System spokesman Robert Feierbach said in a statement.
   Financial details of the order were not disclosed.
