Iridium OpenPort Installed Across Entire U.K. Ship Management Fleet

[Satellite TODAY 06-04-10] U.K. ship management company Zodiac Maritime Agencies has completed retrofitting its entire 156-ship fleet with Iridium OpenPort maritime satellite terminals, the MSS operator announced June 3.

  AND Group, Iridium’s U.K. service provider, performed the Iridium OpenPort installations, integrating the satellite terminals with its IPSignature communications management software. 

  “Zodiac was one of the first shipping fleets to take advantage of Iridium OpenPort’s unmatched value proposition of global coverage, multiple phone circuits, 128 kbps data and low equipment and usage costs. Following successful sea trials, Zodiac made the decision to roll out the Iridium OpenPort fleet-wide last year,” Greg Ewert, Iridium executive vice president of global distribution channels, said in a statement.
