Vizada Launches SkyFile Service Update

By Staff Writer | October 22, 2009

[Satellite TODAY 10-22-09] Vizada has launched SkyFile Mail 7.5, an updated version of its e-mail service for crew members to use on board maritime ships, the company announced Oct. 21.
The new version offers crew members an opportunity to prepay for their communications services. Vizada’s MyMail feature creates a prepaid email account with a personal username and password and use it on different ships. Crew members buy fixed amounts of communications credit on a Vizada Universal Card to make voice calls and send emails and text messages once the SkyFile 7.5 software is installed on the PC on board.
The SkyFile Mail messaging software can be used in prepaid mode with Inmarsat and Iridium mobile satellite terminals.
