Starling Introduces New Antenna System

[Satellite Today – 6-12-08]  Starling Advanced Communication is launching a new airborne broadband antenna system, the company said June 12. The new Ku-band antenna system MIJETLite will be launched at CommunicAsia next week.
    The system enables data transmission and reception at true broadband bit rates via a low profile and lightweight antenna. The antenna system aims to provide aircrafts with a compact size, lightweight, Ku-band antenna system. Starling hopes this system will open up the airborne broadband market for in flight entertainment and communications and cockpit applications.
    Jacob Keret, VP, marketing and sales, Starling Advanced Communication, commented, “There is an increasing demand in the market for a reliable and cost-effective airborne broadband antenna systems to enable in flight applications, Starling is the first to provide an available advanced solution to support high speed and high performance broadband services onboard aircraft at a very competitive price.”
