Surrey Reaches Milestone For Geostationary Mini-Satellite Platform

By | June 6, 2007 | Europe, ST Briefs

Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (SSTL) completed its baseline design review for a geostationary mini-satellite platform, the company announced June 5.

The 2.28 million euro ($3.1 million) pre-development project receives part of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES 4) funding stream for ESA/industry partnerships. ARTES 4 is designed to support promising close-to-market developments, in this case SSTL’s application of low-cost, rapid-schedule approaches to the geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) market.
