[Via Satellite 09-12-2014] Hong Kong-based CMMB Vision Holdings has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with U.S. based New York Satellite Holdings (NYSH) for 100 percent of the company’s capacity for mobile multimedia services on two satellites. The service will cover China and other parts of Asia.

NYSH, a subsidiary of New York Broadband 2, will remain the owner and operator of these spacecraft, for which the company has issued a Request for Information (RFI). NYSH intends to contract and launch the satellites by 2017. The company recently acquired the AsiaStar satellite at 105 degrees east, along with the associated L-band spectrum rights.

CMMB Vision reports it has an MOU with a leading Chinese state-level media group for satellite-based mobile multimedia services nationwide in China. The company intends to rapidly build a commercial operation and currently initiated a trial network in Beijing.
