Norsat Receives $1.7 Million X-band VSAT Order

      [Via Satellite 08-06-2014] Datacom Systems International placed a $1.7 million order for MarineLink COM10X 1-meter X-band satellite terminals from Norsat. The company will install the terminals on Naval ships for a country in Asia under Norsat’s supervision.

      The COM10X terminals meet military standards MIL-STD-901D and MIL-STD-167, meaning they are immune to the high impact shock and vibrations experienced on military vessels. Each terminal will feature Norsat’s Low Noise Block (LNB) down-converter along with other features such as a high gain antenna, a remote accessible web interface, and an integrated satellite database.

      Once installed, the terminals will enable data, audio and video transmissions for remote and challenging applications. Norsat will provide training for the installation, and Datacom will test the associated VSAT systems.
