RapidEye Delivers on Chinese Civil Use Imagery Contract

[Satellite TODAY 02-21-11] RapidEye completed and delivered its second imagery scan of China for the country’s Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR), the geospatial solutions provider announced Feb. 17.
    The imagery campaign ran from August through January, covering about 5.8 million square kilometers, or 60 percent of China. The MLR is responsible for planning, administration, protection and rational utilization of the country’s natural resources. It contracted RapidEye to deliver imagery in February 2010.
    "The MLR was so impressed with RapidEye’s quick coverage and delivery of the country during the 2009-2010 growing season that when discussing an additional coverage this year, RapidEye was the obvious choice," CEO Sun Bing of RapidEye’s Chinese distributor said in a statement.
