By Staff Writer | June 16, 2008

[Satellite Today – 6-16-08] Swe-Dish Satellite Systems is expanding its line of CommuniCase Technology (CCT) terminals which will enable warfighters to have better communications flexibility, the company said June 16. The new terminals will now feature Ka- and X-band capability as well as Ku-band capability, a significant improvement.
The new CCT systems, will enable mobile warfighters operating beyond the edge of the network to improve bandwidth availability and communications flexibility by using the Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) system.
The WGS system supports U.S. military operations worldwide by supplementing commercial Ku-band capability with X- and Ka-band capability. Military, intelligence and other users that have used the portable Swe-Dish Suitcase and drive-away systems to establish high-bandwidth communications anywhere will be able to use the new CCT terminals to leverage the WGS system as well as other military and commercial networks.
