Sirius Satellite Radio [Nasdaq: SIRI] and equipment manufacturer Antex Electronics have introduced what they say is the world’s first satellite radio specifically designed for use in multi-room, multi-zone audio systems. The companies unveiled the three-zone Sirius receiver, SRX-3 TriplePlay, at the CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis, Ind. The receiver consolidates multiple tuners into a single component, allowing listeners in different rooms to play varying streams simultaneously over a single distributed audio system. The SRX-3 will be available in November.
