Irdeto Access, a content protection company, and Canal+ Nederland, the pay-TV operator, continued their battle against pay-media piracy with a raid in The Netherlands that resulted in counterfeit smart cards being seized.

Accompanied by a Dutch bailiff, investigators swooped on the premises of two piracy operations in Axel and Uden, and found computers and other hardware used to make the fake smart cards.

Investigators found counterfeit Canal Plus and Irdeto Access smart cards on the premises. Court notices were served on several alleged counterfeiters, who are scheduled to appear in court this month.
