DigitalGlobe Extends Partnership with Enough Project, SSP

By Jeffrey Hill | July 31, 2012

[Satellite TODAY 07-31-12] DigitalGlobe has entered into an agreement with the Enough Project to continue providing unrivaled imagery and analysis services to monitor evidence of bombings, razed villages and possible threats to civilians in Sudan, the company announced July 30.

The Enough Project is part of the DigitalGlobe-supported Satellite Sentinel Project (SSP). In addition to the imagery and analysis provided under the terms of its new agreement, DigitalGlobe also will contribute additional in-kind services.
DigitalGlobe analysts will analyze imagery and information from sources on the ground and produce situational awareness reports of the possibility of mass violence in Sudan and South Sudan. The SSP then releases the reports to news organizations and policymakers and quickly notifies a mobile network of activists through social media.
“This partnership between DigitalGlobe and the Enough Project represents a game-changing leap forward in how to document evidence of crimes against humanity," SSP Co-Founder and Actor George Clooney said in a statement.
DigitalGlobe has supported SSP analysis efforts since the launch of its pilot phase in December 2010.
