NewSat America Joins SIA

      [Satellite TODAY 06-04-12] NewSat America has joined the Satellite Industry Association (SIA) as a new member, the company announced June 1.

         NewSat America is a subsidiary of Australian satellite communications provider NewSat Ltd., supporting government and military customers throughout the Americas.
         NewSat plans to expand its satellite capabilities with the Jabiru Satellite Program, beginning with the launch of Ku-band service on its Jabiru-2 satellite in the fourth quarter of 2013 and Ka-band service on the Jabiru-1 satellite in the fourth quarter of 2014.
         “NewSat America is very excited about joining the SIA and contributing to its ongoing efforts in support of the satellite industry. We are honored to join such a distinguished group of companies and look forward to strengthening the existing partnerships and creating new ones,” NewSat America Senior Director Diego Paldao said in a statement.
