MITEQ: A Technology Driven Company

By | September 1, 2010 | Satellite TODAY News Feed

Established in 1969, MITEQ has been committed to designing and manufacturing microwave components and subsystems for the satellite and communications market. Components include low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixer products, frequency generation products, IF products, passive components (couplers, splitters, etc.), fiber optic transmitters and receivers and integrated assemblies. Subsystems include a wide range of both satcom and other equipment. With the continuous investment in technology development, the MITEQ product lines continues to grow in scope and breadth. With the acquisition of MCL Inc., a designer and manufacturer of high power amplifiers (HPAs), MITEQ has greatly enhanced the ability to serve the needs of our various customers.
The addition of HPAs to the MITEQ product line and the internal developments of fiber-optic components for high-speed fiber optic communication circuits further establishes MITEQ as a multi-faceted communications company, pushing the boundaries of technology development.
Our technical expertise and MITEQ’s broad product lines allows us to service the commercial, military and space market segments both domestically and internationally.
MITEQ is chosen as a supplier because of its’ level of technical competence, competitively priced products built with a high level of quality and reliability, supported by customer service. All MITEQ products are backed with an extended warranty.
The emphasis on technical competence and product quality is a primary reason for MITEQ’s success. The company consists of separate product and profit/loss groups, each one headed by an engineer who is an expert in the group’s product area. When it comes to product design, it is an engineer who is behind it all, one who understands the product’s application and the importance of engineering product development. MITEQ was founded on this principle, and its continued success is based on the technical aspects of the customer interface including the MITEQ sales/marketing staff, all of whom are technically educated.
Although there are separate product groups, the technology developed by each group is shared throughout the company. The major benefactor of this structure is the communications systems group. The technology developed in all of MITEQ’s component groups is used to assemble one of the most comprehensive line of satellite communications frequency translation products in the world.
The communication products group manufacturers upconverters, downconverters, test-loop translators, redundant switchover units, redundant low noise amplifier systems, RF fiber optic links and a wide range of equipment for INMARSAT applications. Although the emphasis of these products is in the L-, C-, X-, Ku- and Ka-bands, the frequency capabilities of current components and system products extend from video to 60 gigahertz.
MITEQ offers block converters, dual conversion, synthesized, upconverters and downconverters, which are available in 1 kilohertz (kHz) and 125 kHz steps in a single-rack panel height unit. These converters offer complete remote control capability through a variety of remote interfaces (RS232, RS422, RS485, ethernet and contact closure). In addition, MITEQ’s engineers have been designing and manufacturing microwave amplifiers for more than 40 years. This vast experience and capability is used to best provide amplifiers for any requirement. In short, when it comes to RF satellite equipment, MITEQ pretty much has it all; and if they do not have it, they can build it on a custom basis to fit the customer’s needs.
An advantage that cannot be overlooked is MITEQ’s flexibility to utilize technology and to meet its customers’ requirements. For more information, visit us a www.miteq.com.
