By Staff Writer | November 11, 2010

Comtech EF Data has acquired FX-series WAN optimization, application and platforms developer Stampede Technologies for an undisclosed amount, the companies announced Nov. 4.
Comtech said the acquisition would enable the company to expand its WAN optimization product offerings for commercial applications by leveraging Stampede’s bandwidth-reducing technologies.
Typical Stampede FX users include ISPs, enterprises, offshore/maritime and telecommunications operators. The products support high-speed content delivery, HTTP and TCP optimization and acceleration, Internet access and corporate networks.
“Complementary to our advanced VSAT-series and satellite modems, the combined solutions enable Comtech EF Data to provide unrivaled satellite bandwidth savings and link utilization,” Comtech Senior Vice President Daniel Enns said in a statement.
