New Streambox Enterprise Server Aims to Cut Video Acquisition Costs

By Jeffrey Hill | April 13, 2011

Streambox has introduced an all-in-one, software-based enterprise server designed to allow broadcasters and other video-centric organizations to manage the acquisition of video content when substantial amounts of video are being contributed, the company announced.
The enterprise server includes multi-functioning capabilities used to acquire, manage, and play out live and file-based video sent from the field. Key features include: the capability of acquiring both live and file-based video, automated streaming and routing, video sharing, and interrupted feedback broadcasting.
“Local news broadcasts have dramatically evolved from twice-a-day televised reports to now a 24/7 source of information. To keep up with the demand for news content, broadcasters need to aggregate more video at a faster rate. Our new enterprise server enables stations to bring as much content in as they require, while keeping the costs low, ” Streambox Chairman and CEO Bob Hildeman said in a statement.
