[Via Satellite 11-06-2014] Comtech EF Data has augmented several of its satellite modems to optimize the devices for use with High Throughput Satellite (HTS) systems. The CDM-760 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem now includes an integrated High-Speed Packet Processor for high-end users, that can process more than 190,000 packets per second simplex, and more than 350,000 packets per second duplex.

The mid-range communications CDM-625A and CDMER-625A Advanced Satellite Modems now support VersaFEC-2 Forward Error Correction and Modulation, enabling bandwidth savings of 30 to 40 percent over its predecessor waveform. Lastly, the entry-level CDM-570A Satellite Modem features a new packet processor for improving throughput, header compression and traffic shaping.

Each modem is managed through the NetVue integrated management system. Comtech EF Data’s amplifier and frequency converter offerings are also managed using NetVue.
